ams OSRAM AS5047U Rotary Position Sensor

ams OSRAM AS5047U Rotary Position Sensor is a Hall-effect magnetic sensor using CMOS technology. The Hall sensors convert the magnetic field component perpendicular to the surface of the chip into voltage. The AS5047U Sensor is designed to offer fast absolute angle measurement over a full 360° range. The 14-bit on-axis magnetic rotary position sensor features integrated Dynamic Angle Error Compensation (DAEC™) with almost zero latency at a higher rotational speed. For increased signal quality at lower rotational speed, the Dynamic Filter System (DFS™) reduces transition noise. The robust design of the AS5047U Sensor suppresses the influence of any homogenous external stray magnetic field. A standard four-wire SPI serial interface with Cyclic Redundancy Check (CRC) protection allows a host microcontroller to read 14-bit absolute angle position data and programs non-volatile settings without a dedicated programmer.

The AS5047U provides incremental movement data as a set of Actinic Blank Inspection (ABI) signals with a maximum resolution of 16,989 steps and 4096 pulses per revolution. The resolution on the ABI output can be programmed for 10- to 14-bits. This device also includes a standard UVW commutation interface with a programmable number of pole pairs (1 to 7), ideal for controlling Brushless DC (BLDC) motors. The absolute angle position is also provided as a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) encoded output signal.

The single die ams OSRAM AS5047U Magnetic Rotary Position Sensor is offered in a 14-pin Thin Shrink Small Outline Package (TSSOP), and is ams OSRAM green and RoHS compliant.

Socket Board

ams OSRAM AS5x47-TS_EK_SB Socket Board allows quick programming of the AS5047D and AS5147 Magnetic Rotary Position Sensors without soldering due to its ZIF Open-Top-Socket for TSSOP packages. The AS5x47-TS_EK_SB Socket Board features a 5-pin dual-row connector for
connecting to the USB I&P Box, and a 10-pin dual-row connector for connecting to the SD4Y Production Programmer. An 8-pin header gives access to UVW, ABI, and GND signals. All passive components needed for proper operation are included on the Socket Board. Only a power supply mode of 5V is possible.

USB I&P Box

The AS5x47U Adapter Board and AS5x47-TS_EK_SB Socket Board can be used with the optional ams USB I&P (Interface & Programmer) Box, which enables users to read out the sensor data, write a configuration, and permanently program a configuration.

SD4Y Programmer

ams OSRAM SD4Y Programmer is designed for high-speed programming AS5x4x, AS5x3x, and AS514x Magnetic Position sensors. The SD4Y Programmer features a 20-pin connector that connects to the AS5x47U Adapter Board or AS5x47-TS_EK_SB Socket Board. A USB cable connects the Programmer to a PC, where a Graphic User Interface (GUI) is used to program the target device.
