Analog Devices Inc. HMC1122 Evaluation Board

Analog Devices Inc. HMC1122 Evaluation Board evaluates the features and capabilities of HMC1122 6-Bit Digital Step Attenuators. The HMC1122 evaluation board is constructed using a 4-layer material with a copper thickness of 0.7mil on each layer. A dielectric material separates each copper layer. The middle and bottom dielectric materials are composed of FR-4. The board's construction yields mechanical strength and overall board thickness of approximately 62mil. Analog Devices Inc. HMC1122 Evaluation Board design allows SMA connectors to be slipped in at the board edges.

Three decoupling capacitors are populated on the supply trace to filter high-frequency noise. On the digital signal traces, provisions for an RC filter are made to clean any potential coupled noise. In standard operation, series resistors are at 0Ω and shunt capacitors are open. The board also uses two dual inline packages (DIP) and four-position single-pole dual-throw (SPDT) switches for the manual control of the device in direct parallel mode.
