Analog Devices Inc. LTM9100 Isolated Anyside™ µModule® Controller

Analog Devices LTM9100 Isolated Anyside™ µModule® Controller is an all-in-one, isolated switch micromodule controller that protects and monitors high-voltage DC power supplies up to 1000V. Power and energy monitoring of the high-voltage bus are made possible through a 10-bit ADC and the I2C/SMBus interface. The 10-bit ADC monitors current and two uncommitted channels. The I2C/SMBus interface provides isolated digital measurements of load current, bus voltage, and temperature. Adjustable undervoltage and overvoltage lockout thresholds ensure that the load operates only when the input supply is in its valid range.

The LTM9100 Controller guarantees uninterrupted communications for common-mode transients up to 30kV/μs. LTM9100's 5kVRMS galvanic isolation barrier separates the digital interface from the switch controller driving an external N-channel MOSFET or IGBT switch. A single 5V supply powers both sides of the switch controller through an integrated, isolated DC/DC converter. A separate logic supply input supports interfacing with logic levels from 3V to 5.5V, independent of the main supply.

Thanks to its isolated design, users can easily configure the LTM9100 for high-side, low-side (ground return), and floating applications. The LTM9100 Controller is versatile enough to control inrush current in hot-swappable cards, AC transformers, motor drives, and inductive loads.
