Hammond Manufacturing Type 4X, 6P Polycarbonate & ABS Enclosures

Hammond Manufacturing Type 4X, 6P Polycarbonate and General Purpose ABS Enclosures are ideally used for mounting printed circuit boards or DIN rail-mounted components. The ABS enclosures are molded from general-purpose material that carries a flammability rating of UL 94-HB for indoor use. The polycarbonate versions are UV-stabilized for outdoor use with a UL 94-5VA rating. These enclosures are available in watertight, styled lids, and UL-listed options. Hammond Type 4X, 6P Polycarbonate and General Purpose ABS Enclosures feature a gasket lid with two-piece, tongue-and-groove construction that protects against oil, dust, and water. The lid is secured with M4 stainless steel machine screws that are threaded into integral stainless steel bushings for repetitive assembly and disassembly.

  • Polycarbonate versions UV stabilized for outdoor use, gray polycarb has UL 94-5VA rating

  • Enclosure color is light gray (RAL 7035)
  • Gasketed lid with 2-piece tongue-and-groove construction protects against access to oil, dust, and water
  • Single-piece replaceable gasket made from high-temperature, UL-listed silicone, supplied loose inside enclosure (not pre-installed)
  • ABS plastic versions designed to meet IP66
  • Polycarb versions designed to meet NEMA Type 4, 4X, 6, 6P, 12, and 13 ratings, which meet and exceed IP ratings up to and including IP68 (except 1554/55 V size, which is 4,4X only)
  • Lid secured with included M4 stainless steel machine screws threaded into corrosion-resistant bushings for repetitive assembly and disassembly, all hardware is designed to avoid corrosion caused by harsh environments over time
  • Lid screws are self-captivating (lid holes threaded with first installation of lid screws)
  • Internal features maximized for mounting options and vary with size
  • Internal DIN-rail mounting tabs molded into most models, except sizes "C" and "D"
  • Threaded (M3) integral brass inserts and/or standoffs (for #6 self-tapping screws) for PC-board or inner-panel mounting in all but smallest size ("B")
  • Vertical PC card guides (for 1.5mm-thick PC boards) molded in all but smallest size ("B")
