TE Connectivity Insertion/Extraction Tools
TE Connectivity's Insertion/Extraction Tools are used to insert or remove discrete terminals from connector housings without causing damage. These tools feature a comfortable handle and snap-in/out protective cover. This allows the users to stow the business end of the tools to help protect from inadvertent personal injury when the tools are not in use. The insertion/extraction tools are compatible with a majority of connectors used in most manufacturers’ wiring harnesses. These tools feature a comfortable handle and snap-in/out protective cover that allows users to use the tool safely.
Insertion tools are needed if a seal is applied to the single wire before the terminal is crimped. The terminal with the sealed wire must then be inserted into the connector housing cavity. Insertion tools ensures the terminal is pressed deeply enough into the cavity so that the locking lances engage correctly in the housing.
Extraction tools are designed to fit the geometry of the housing and the geometry of the terminal. Locking lanes must be closed prior to extracting the terminal from the housing. The extraction tool is inserted into the front part of the connector housing to extract the terminal from the housing cavity on the opposite side of the connector.
